Final Activity
Example teacher script:
Now that you have developed the knowledge to be able to develop a range of different graph types, you are going to be presented with three different problems. You are to select one of these problems, gather the required information relating to the problem that you have selected and then present this information in a graph format of your choosing. You will use the computer tools (software) for making graphs that we have explored in this unit of work. This activity is to be completed in pairs as it is quite a large activity. Here are the three problems that you may choose from.
- Determine how each of the students in your class get to school and represent this information as a graph.
- Determine the eye colour of each of the students in your class and represent this as a graph.
- Measure a range of different pencils and place them into different measurement categories, recording how many pencils fall in each category.
Collect your information and work together to represent this information using the most appropriate graph. (Provide timelines appropriate to your context)

Teamwork
Working as a team will require you to be cooperative and respectful of each other. Here is a few tips to help you with working together. Show class the group rules on the IWB.
- Assign Roles - Although you have to work together, it will be easier if one person is doing one task while another is completing a different task. For example, when you are collecting information, one may gather the information and the other record it.
- Create a list of tasks that have to be completed - This task requires a number of subtasks that have to be completed. Create a list and determine the most important tasks at the time.
- Respect each others opinion - You may disagree on particular ways of completing the task. If this is the case, communicate and attempt to resolve the issue. If you can not do this then see the teacher.
